Change is difficult in many situations and is especially challenging when the change involves separation. In the context of business, separation (AKA termination) can be for cause, or not. Either way, it’s typically hard on the employee, management, human resources and the team.

Beyond the act of “letting someone go”, there can be lingering effects with your team, the discharged employee and even others in your industry.

What is Outplacement?

Outplacement is a service provided by the employer through a third-party supplier (at no cost to the employee) during times of workforce restructuring, layoffs and termination. Organizations that provide outplacement services from companies such as Next Step Outplacement℠, do so for concern for the outplaced employee, as well as the long-term implications of workforce transformation on their employer brand, employee retention, and overall business success.

Our Approach

We provide the support and tools to move forward. We care and understand...this is at the root of our approach and client engagement. Our experienced recruiters and resume writers will listen, offer empathic-produce-knowledgeable support and coaching.

“This too shall pass.”

Our goal is to turn this situation into a fresh start. It's an opportunity for the person to assess their career - who they are, what they’re good at, what they enjoy, and where they want to be in the future. We help them clarify or find their destination and the path to get there.

“Plan your work and work your plan.”

How it Works for the Employer:

• All our conversations are 100% Confidential. 100%!

• Let us know how many people are going to be offered the Next Steps package.

• An employer can offer this at any time. Often times Next Steps is presented to the employee at the time of presenting a Separation Agreement.

• Upon employee acceptance, the employer notifies us of the individuals name and contact information. We carefully touch base with the employee and ask them to let us know when they’re ready to talk about next steps.

How it Works for the Employee:

Once the employee has accepted the offering of "Next Step" services from the employer, the employee may engage us and start the process at their leisure. We will schedule a date/time to meet, and move forward from there. Our approach is individualized based on our feedback from the employee as we move into discussions.
